NEETS

In my downtime at work, in order to prevent from going insane from boredom, I’ve decided to learn more about electricity & electronics.  Currently, I’m about halfway through the first module (1 of 24) of the United States Navy Electricity & Electronics Training Series (NEETS).  From the website:

Written by, and with the advice of, senior technicians in these ratings, this series provides beginners with fundamental electrical and electronic concepts through self-study.

As mentioned in the website, this stuff is really easy to digest.  Almost all of the concepts I’ve learned so far have stuck pretty good to my head.  My favorite part, so far, has been learning about how electricity works, and the different ways there are to generate it.

I have two alarm clocks in the bedroom.  Am I just sad for spending an extra 3-4 minutes synchronizing the clocks with each other?

I want my MPG

I always laugh when I see automobile billboards that say something like, “From LA to SF on a single tank of gasoline.”  This bit of information is pretty much useless without letting us know how large is the gas tank.  What I’d like to know is though, how many suckers actually fall for this.
